Devils Play Claremont Univ Wed, Loongbang Sat
- 20/05/08
Beijing Devils has a couple of big games this week, starting with a Wednesday evening match against touring team Claremont University from the U.S. and then on Saturday the important Beijing Cup match against Beijing Loonbang.
The Claremont University match provides an opportunity to not only test our skills against overseas opposition, but also a chance to provide some really good hospitality.
The match will be played at the International School of Beijing and kicks off at 8pm. The Devils will meet the Claremont team at The Den at 6pm and our team bus will take both sides to ISB, departing at 6:30pm.
Please don't forget the ISB rules about smoking and alcohol consumption 每 both are forbidden on the school premises. For anyone concerned at the prospect of doing without either of these addictive substances for 80 minutes, it's worth remembering the noble words of (chain-smoker) Chairman Mao: "health is the capital for making socialist revolution." So there you are.
After the match, the social will take place at The Den. All club members are welcome.
Devils Versus Loongbang In Beijing Cup On Saturday
The Loongbang side*s impressive win against the Brothers suggests that the Devils will be in for a real test this weekend at Dulwich College.
The last time the two sides met in April, the Devils won 41-5 每 a convincing result on the face of it, but in reality a really hard-fought contest particularly in the forwards. The Loongbang side was also not at full strength.
The Devils decision to forfeit matches against the Brothers means that they have to win 每 and win well 每 to have any chance at all of winning the Beijing Cup. As well, a good performance and result against Loongbang will set up the Devils well for the club*s second Yellow Sea Cup match of the season the following weekend. The Devils play the Seoul Survivors in Beijing on May 31.
