A lighter side of The Shanghai Hairy Crabs.

The SHCs are a group of foreign two-legged rugby nuts, that love to do battle with the local chinese and japanese teams. Another favourite past time is hosting teams from any club or nation. In 2006 they have enjoyed the company of ancient French Tahitians, youthful Canadians and some grey haired Kiwis.

Unlike their eight legged namesakes, they are never eaten and certainly not in October! But they do like a drink. Regularly they are seen at boat races. The police haven't stopped them performing ritual tequila suicides and Suki Sake is definitely always a friend, when any hairy crab is in need.

Guinness is a preferred beverage, especially on international sevens weekend, yellow sea cup saturdays and ANZ challenge cup day, when the Hairy Crabs and some ringers, like Josh Kronfeld, take on the mighty Chinese national team!

All in all the Shanghai Hairy Crabs are an awesome community that allows the normally poorly, hard done by laowei to regain some perspective from a Chinese working week! You can come and try to beat us, but you'll just end up joining us!
